Dean Hovey
CEO
Dean has broad executive experiences - as a boot-strapped founder, venture backed CEO, public company VP|GM, innovation consultant, Board Member, and venture capitalist.
He is known for his creativity, leadership, and curiosity. He has started 12 companies, served as a senior executive in two public corporations and on several boards, and was instrumental in the design and commercialization of the computer mouse for Apple Computer.
Dr. Douglas Romney
Critical Care Medical Officer
Doug is an emergency medicine physician and disaster medicine specialist. He serves as an ABEM Board Certified Emergency Medicine Attending Physician in Massachusetts, Harvard Medical School Instructor, Director of Education for the Fellowship in Disaster Medicine at BIDMC, Co-Director of the Emergency Preparedness Committee for Southcoast Health, and Co-Director of the SAEM Disaster Medicine Interest Group.
Current interests include critical asset risk assessment, protective medicine, disaster policy, crisis leadership, disaster operations, telemedicine, and biomedical innovation.
Dr. Scott Forman
Austere Care Medical Officer
Scott is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and innovator. He is also certified and credentialed in hyperbaric medicine and has served as an expedition physician in both the Arctic and Antarctic.
Scott developed a paradigm changing product for the EMS industry—a multi-tool enabled trauma shear for which he has four patents awarded. He also serves as medical director for a range of organizations including humanitarian and disaster response, air evacuation and medical transport, and athletic coaching.
Meghan Craig
Director of Operations
Meghan is a highly skilled systems thinker and collaborative leader with experience in the renewables, sustainability and disaster response industries. She brings over 15 years experience in mission driven work with demonstrated success in partnership building, people and process management, program and project development, and community outreach within non-profit, public, and private sectors.
She serves on multiple Board of Directors and believes in the value of investing in one’s community.
Chris Tacklind
Chief Scientist and Maker Labs Director
Chris Tacklind has been the technical lead in about a dozen start-ups in a wide range of industries from medical devices to robotics and transportation. He is a prolific inventor with dozens of patents including co-invention of HP Inkjet.
Chris Luomanen
Chief Experience Officer
Chris Luomanen is a Product Designer who has spent his career bridging the gap between user experience and the design of products, services and environments. As the principal of Thing Tank, he has helped large companies and start ups understand their customers, and generate concepts that inspire and delight them.
Before founding Thing Tank, Chris was a designer, user researcher, prototype fabricator, project manager and workshop facilitator at IDEO.
Eric Vicenti
Senior Full Stack Software Engineer
After a decade of software engineering, Eric enjoys designing beautiful user experiences, and is comfortable leading full-stack application development.
A wide variety of startups have relied on Eric over the years to build elegant web experiences. At Facebook he built native mobile apps, and Open-Sourced the underlying technology, becoming an educator and leader in the software engineering community.
Cameron Tacklind
Senior Systems Engineer
Cameron Tacklind is a robotics & digital systems engineer with nearly two decades of experience researching and developing electro mechanical systems. He has taken projects from inception to production in fields ranging from over the counter consumer and medical devices to automotive comfort systems
